Mirian Diop is a scientist, business owner, and community partner whose career reflects a commitment to excellence, education, and meaningful social impact. She began her professional journey after earning a Ph.D. from Northwestern University and joined ExxonMobil Chemical Company in 2014 as a research scientist, where she quickly distinguished herself through technical leadership and innovation.
Over the following decade, Mirian held a series of leadership roles of increasing scope and responsibility, including leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and later serving in a global financial planning role supporting a major manufacturing business. Alongside her professional achievements, she remained committed to community engagement, education, and service.
In 2024, Mirian founded Kati Coffee in Georgetown, establishing the business as both a specialty coffee brand and a platform for community partnership. Through a structured 7% give-back model, Kati Coffee supports local organizations focused on education, public safety, and social services. One of Mirian’s most significant initiatives is the Kati Educational Scholarship, a scholarship supporting women pursuing STEM degrees at Southwestern University.
Mirian has also developed partnerships with organizations such as Brookwood in Georgetown, supporting inclusive workforce development and vocational opportunities. She lives in Central Texas with her husband and is deeply invested in Georgetown through her business, partnerships, and service.
